Melbourne is where we used live, right in the middle of the city. Next to us is this large glass and steel cone, which is the top of a shopping centre. It was built to enclose a heritage-protected tower. Go figure.

In front of our old apartment is the Victorian Library. At night, when the lights are on, it looks quite majestic.

In summer the foldback glass doors to open up the living room into a huge indoor/outdoor space.

We were only a few blocks away from BCG (centre of the pic, behind the Deathstar-style tower) and Lucy's former university, RMIT.

Also close at hand are a collection of great restaurants and bars, including: Vis, Ezard, Num Fong, the Hairy Canary, the Kitten Club, the Melbourne Supper Club, the Nudel Bar, Becco, Kuni's - all worth checking out if you don't know them already.
